Verschil UVA en UVB stralen<\/h2>\n

UV staat voor ultraviolette straling, de straling in onze atmosfeer.
\nMaar wat is nu precies het verschil tussen UVA en UVB straling? Dat is een vraag die niet iedereen zomaar kan beantwoorden.<\/p>\n

Om de gevaren van de UV straling in te kunnen schatten is het belangrijk om het verschil tussen UVA en UVB te weten en daarom leggen wij het hier uit.<\/p>\n

Het verschil UVA en UVB straling is het volgende:<\/p>\n

UVA stralen zijn ultraviolette stralen die onze huid veroudert, de A staat voor de Engelse term Aging, oftewel in het Nederlands veroudering. De B in UVB staat voor Burn, het Engelse woord voor verbranding.<\/p>\n

A = Aging<\/p>\n

B = Burn<\/p>\n

UVA stralen<\/h3>\n

Verschil van UVA en UVB straling is de mate waarin de straling in de huid dringt.\u00a0UVA en UVB stralen zijn namelijk erg verschillend en hebben elk een ander effect op de huid. UVA golven zijn langer en dringen dieper in de huid. Ze zijn de grootste oorzaak van vroegtijdige huidveroudering, zoals rimpels, huidplekjes en pigmentvlekken en spelen een belangrijke rol bij het ontstaan van huidkanker.<\/span><\/p>\n

UVB<\/span><\/p>\n

UVB golven zijn kortere golven die enkel tot de bovenste huidlaag reiken, ze veroorzaken verbranding van de huid, maar spelen evengoed een rol bij huidkanker. Natuurlijk zonlicht bestaat voor 95% uit UVA en 5% uit UVB. Het is dus heel belangrijk dat je zonbescherming tegen beide UV- stralen beschermd, zoals Sunday Brush.<\/span><\/p>\n

UVA stralen bereiken ons ook op bewolkte dagen en gaan door glas en kleding. Om onszelf goed te beschermen tegen de UVA stralen, de UV stralen die huidveroudering veroorzaken, moeten we onze huid en met name ons gezicht, dagelijks goed beschermen. En dus niet alleen tegen zonverbranding, die juist weer afkomstig zijn van de zogenaamde UVB stralen.<\/p>\n

UVB stralen<\/h3>\n

UVB stralen dringen minder diep de huid in en zijn verantwoordelijk voor het verbranden van de huid. Afhankelijk van je huidtype verbrand je snel of minder snel. Ook de stand van de zon heeft te maken met hoe snel je verkleurd.<\/p>\n

Is de zon feller en ben je dichterbij de evenaar of in de bergen? Dan zal je sneller verbranden. Water, sneeuw weerkaatsen de zonnestralen en ook zal je hierdoor sneller verkleuren door de UVB stralen. UVB stralen gaan niet door glas of kleding. Het verschil tussen UVA en UVB straling zit hem dus in hoe diep de straling in je huid doordringt en hoe de straling jou bereikt.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

UVC stralen<\/h3>\n

Naast de UVA en UVB stralen zijn er ook nog UVC stralen, maar UVC stralen worden door de ozonlaag tegengehouden en hebben geen invloed op onze huid en we hoeven ons hiervoor niet tegen te beschermen.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Breed spectrum<\/h3>\n

Wat is breed spectrum oftewel Broad Spectrum in het Engels?<\/p>\n

Met breed spectrum wordt bedoeld dat het zonbeschermingsproduct zowel tegen UVA als tegen UVB stralen beschermd. De SFP (Sun Protection Factor) is van toepassing op de UVB bescherming, tegen zonnebrand. Dus met een SPF 50 ben je met een factor van 50 beschermd tegen UVB stralen.<\/p>\n

\"SundayUVA stralen hebben geen factor en je dit kan je alleen aflezen op etiket van het product of het product ook tegen UVA beschermd. Als er een UVA logo op staat, een rondje met de tekst UVA erin, dan biedt het product ook bescherming tegen UVA. Enkel producten met het UVA logo op de verpakking biedt het product ook bescherming tegen UVA.<\/p>\n
